About Daylong

Fewer pieces.

Started with one shirt that would not wear out

Daylong began as a single overshirt, cut from a deadstock twill that was heavier than anything on the high street. It outlasted three jobs and two moves, and people kept asking where it came from.
So we found the mill, then a cut-and-sew workshop a few streets away, and made forty more. Today the range is twelve pieces. We add a few each season and retire one only when we can make something that lasts longer.
Every garment carries a care label with its weight in GSM and the town it was made in, so you know exactly what you are buying.
How a piece gets made

Fibre to mend

01

Fibre

Long-staple organic cotton and flax, bought from growers we can name.
02

Mill

Woven or knitted heavier than standard, from 160 to 450 GSM depending on the piece.
03

Make

Cut and sewn in small runs, with flat-felled seams on anything that takes strain.
04

Mend

When something wears through, send it back. We repair it free and post it home.
