01
The bench
Every composition begins as a page of handwritten accords and a row of numbered vials. Nothing is composed on a screen. A formula is smelled on paper, then on skin, then left for a week before it is touched again.
02
The materials
We buy from the same growers each year and accept that a harvest can change a scent. Bergamot from one Calabrian estate; Atlas cedar that has dried for two winters; orris aged three years in the dark.
03
The glass
The flacon is poured in a single mould and finished by hand, seven millimetres thick at the shoulder so that the liquid sits in it like a stone in water. The cap is lacquered eleven times.
04
The time
After bottling, every flacon rests for eight weeks before it leaves the house. We have never shortened that; it is the only ingredient we cannot buy.
The house is founded in Grasse with a single formula, Orée.
Cendre, after two winters of trials with smoked vetiver.
The flacon is redesigned: thicker glass, a heavier cap.
Éclaircie. The collection is complete, for now.
