Warranty.
Every KT-4 is covered for two years against faults in parts and workmanship. Drops and water beyond IP54 aren’t covered, but we’ll quote a flat-rate repair before touching anything.

Use a V30 or faster card and format it in the recorder (Menu → Storage → Format), not on a computer. Cards formatted as exFAT on a Mac can carry hidden files the KT-4 rejects.
My timecode drifts from the camera.
Jam-sync from the camera once at the start of the day, and update to v2.4.1, which fixes a rare drift after 18 hours of continuous running.
There’s a hiss on input 3 or 4.
Check that phantom power is off for dynamic mics and that the pad is disengaged. If the hiss stays with the input shorted, send us a clip — it may be a cable or a preamp fault.
The app won’t connect over Bluetooth.
Remove the KT-4 from your phone’s Bluetooth list, then pair again from inside the Kilotone Field app — not from system settings.
Batteries run out faster than expected.
Phantom power on all four inputs roughly halves runtime. Lithium AA cells last about twice as long as alkaline in the cold.
