Analytics in depth

What is counted

GO1 CMS counts page views and events on your own server. No third party is involved unless you add Google Analytics.

The Analytics screen shows:

  • total page views and unique visitors for the period,
  • a chart over time,
  • top pages, sources, referrers, countries, devices, browsers and operating systems,
  • filters for one project and one page, and export of the current view.

Views are rolled up daily, so long periods stay fast, and older raw rows are archived.

Site Analytics plugin

Turn on Site Analytics for a website to control what is collected:

  • whether signed-in visitors are counted,
  • whether the browser's Do Not Track setting is honoured,
  • whether events are recorded,
  • paths to leave out, such as /admin,
  • how many days of data to keep. Older rows are removed daily.

Google Analytics 4

The GA4 plugin adds Google's tag to every page and can show GA4's numbers in the dashboard (see Google Analytics and cookie consent).

Bandwidth

On hosted plans, each published page's weight is measured when it is published. Bandwidth is the page weight times its views, counted per website per day and compared with the plan.
