SEO in depth

The SEO screen

SEO lists every page with a score from 0 to 100 and its issues, such as a missing description or a title that is too long. The score looks at the title and description length, images and their alt text, keywords and the focus keyphrase. Sort by score to fix the weakest pages first.

Edit a page's SEO inline: title, description, keywords, focus keyphrase, the social card's title, description and image, the canonical address and the robots setting. A preview shows the result as a searcher would see it.

What every published page carries

  • The title, description, canonical address and social tags are written into the page's HTML on the server, so search engines and link previews see them without running JavaScript.
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) can be switched on per page.
  • An address with no page answers a real 404 and a branded not-found page.
  • Blog posts and product pages get their own titles, descriptions and share images from their record.
  • The page language is declared for sites in other languages.

Sitemap and robots

/sitemap.xml lists every published page, every post and every record page, built fresh on each request. Members-only pages and template pages are left out. /robots.txt is a real robots file.

SEO Pack plugin

Turn on SEO Pack for a website to set what has one answer for the whole site:

  • a title template and fallback description and share image for pages that have none,
  • the default robots setting,
  • business details for structured data: name, phone, address and opening hours,
  • extra paths to keep out of search, a crawl delay, and a switch to block AI training crawlers.

Before publishing

The publish check scans the page for text that is hard to read and images without alt text, lists each issue and jumps to it.
